Raíces Cooperative Farm
What We Do . . .
Organic Garden Education
Raíces offers free classes and workshops through collaboration with Master Gardeners and other experts in the field. Members build leadership skills by sharing their own agricultural knowledge. We serve as a site for schools and other groups to conduct educational activities and service learning. We also offer garden space to those who do not have access to land and which to grow food using organic techniques.
Small Business Development
Raíces members have opportunities to learn about marketing, sales, budgeting and other business skills. We have a booth at local farmers’ markets where members can sell their produce. In addition, a sales cooperative is being developed to help members explore new market outlets for their products.
Improve Family Nutrition
Raíces increases the amount of organic produce available to project members, food banks, and buyers at local farmers’ markets. We also help improve project members’ health through productive physical activity.
